Ford EcoBoost engine more lighter – New Ford Fiesta will be offered with 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine type. Mechanical heart is touted as a smart machine features a lighter weight than its predecessor the 1.6-liter.
“The weight of EcoBoost engine 97 kilogram, the material is cast iron, so using a special material,” said Product & Pricing Manager stratey FMI, Rowan S Suhendy.
Managing Director of FMI Bagus Susanto said, 1.0L EcoBoost engine has a weight of up to tens of kilograms lighter than its predecessor.
“Compared to the 1.6-liter, 1.0 liter EcoBoost lighter 50 kg. Components that move, 25 percent less than the 1.6 liter engine,” said Bagus.
For information, the EcoBoost engine has a capacity of 1.0 liter three-cylinder with direct fuel injection mated, TiVCT. 1.0L EcoBoost can generate power 125 hp with 170 Nm of torque.
The mechanical heart can be invited to run from 0-100 kph in 11.4 seconds with a maximum speed of 192 km per hour. Ford claims the EcoBoost translucent fuel consumption of 18.9 km / liter.
